How do I automatically retrieve account information for TurboTax?
After you have purchased and installed the TurboTax software, follow these steps to import your Ameriprise Financial or RiverSource account data:
- On the "Choose How to Enter Your Income" screen, select the "Guide Me Through Income" button.
- When given the option to save time by importing your investments, choose the "Import My Information" button.
- Once you have selected to import your information, you'll be asked to choose your financial institution from a list of possible options. Select Ameriprise Financial and click "Retrieve Income." If you don't see Ameriprise Financial as an option, you might need to update TurboTax.
- To import your Ameriprise Financial or RiverSource information, you'll need to log in with the user ID and password you use to access your accounts on ameriprise.com. If you've forgotten your My Financial Accounts login information, call our Customer Service Center at (800) 862-7919.
- You might notice that when asked to select the Ameriprise Financial information you'd like to import into TurboTax, your account number(s) are in a different format from what you're accustomed to seeing — with no spacing and different zero placement.
